CENTRAL COAST SUP

Ken Krall getting some of that south swell last week on his new Paddle Surf Hawaii 12' Gun. Seems that all the chargers up north are surfing our boards now and for good reason. They can handle the Central and Nor-Cal juice. Thanks for the pic Ken and keep them coming. OUT.

PADDLE SURF HAWAII

Jerry Shalhoob and Steve Marsh hanging out in the "man barn" putting on another deck pad. We have applied soooo many deck pads in the "man barn" over the years. Jerry and Steve are a couple of my good friends and also proud owners of Paddle Surf Hawaii SUP boards. If you live in California and specifically Santa Barbara you probably have noticed lots of these boards in the line up. These SUP boards kick ass in the surf and are also great flat water boards for beginners. The magic in these boards is that they are super stable and surf insane. Why is that? Because they are shaped on the North Shore by Blane Chambers and tested by big strong Hawaiians in solid surf. This all translates into a killer SUP board for us on the mainland that is stable yet surfs like a mo-fo. You get the best of both worlds. Stop by BlueLine and test drive a board and find out for yourself why so many people are making the move to Paddle Surf Hawaii. Great people, great boards, great prices.

New pricing on all PSH boards going into effect at the end of the month. Prices will range from $1050 to $1099 including deck pad and fins. The best boards at the best price. OUT.

BLUELINE/PADDLE SURF HAWAII

Stop by BlueLine Paddlesurf in Santa barbara to see the full line of Paddle Surf Hawaii SUP boards. Most models available for demo before you buy. These are the hottest boards on the water right now at the best prices. OUT.

DANGER, DANGER, DANGER

So much for my thinking that SUP surfing was going to be a safer sport than other stuff I have done in the past like mountain bike racing, road racing, free riding, snow boarding and the list goes on. Since I stared doing SUP I have busted my ribs two different times, severed all my tendons in my lower leg with my paddle blade and had major surgery to re-connect them. I have had many stitches on my feet from jumping off the board onto rocks. I barely survived a recent SUP trip to the Galapagos. What are you going to do!! How about get a big ass super fast new motorcycle. Yup, I am now the proud owner of a 2009 KTM 530. It's street legal and goes real fast. My wife just got more life insurance for me after seeing it. Not a bad idea with my track record. Might just be safer than SUP. At least I will have a helmet on:) OUT.

LAKE TAHOE WRAP UP

Back home in Santa Barbara after a super fun time up at Lake Tahoe. The kids had a blast on the SUP boards. Ill be back up to Tahoe the middle of August for the 3rd annual Ta-Hoe Nalu SUP Festival/race. We will have a Paddle Surf Hawaii tent set up with boards and swag. If all goes as planned Blane Chambers from Paddle Surf Hawaii will be driving up with me to check out the festival and race. More info on that later. OUT.

RIVER RUN

A few more photos from our run down the Trukee river. Today we did the "Jam to the Dam" SUP race on Lake Tahoe. It was a be-yotch!! Howling victory at sea headwind the whole 6 miles. They almost called the race off due to the wind. Longest 6 miles I have ever paddled. I think about 90 people entered. Great group of people and it was very satisfying to finish the race. More on this race next post with photos. OUT.

LAKE TAHOE

Yesterday we shot down the Trukee River from the Tahoe dam and ended at the River Ranch. Super fun time!! Banged up my board a little but well worth it. I decided to go with my PSH 9'3" Ripper with a small center fin. Worked great. Today Im off to do the 6 mile "JAM TO THE DAM" SUP race. OUT.

Been super busy so no time to post lately. Lots going on in the SUP world and at home. Just got the the news that my dad died so that always puts thing back in perspective.
