Another happy camper with a new Paddle Surf Hawaii sticker. Turns out that these stickers are as popular as the SUP boards. We met this guy on Orcas Island and all I know is that his name is Jimmy and he makes frequent surf trip to Hawaii. Classic character!!

Fall is closing in and winter right around the corner. Time to start thinking about adding a high performance Paddle Surf Hawaii SUP board to the quiver. These two boards kick ass in the surf. I use both. These boards aren't 35 inch wide flying saucers like some of the other shorter boards on the market but they ARE super stable and surf insane. Paddle Surf Hawaii owner and shaper Blane Chambers has these boards dialed in. The best boards at the best prices hands down. Come by BlueLine for a test drive. OUT.

Today we had some kids and moms from my oldest son's school out on the Paddle Surf Hawaii boards. Everyone had a great time. A huge thanks to John Becker for helping out. In fact, John is one of the most knowledgeable guys I know when it comes to the sport of SUP. He is also one of the top SUP racers in the country. John will be working part time down at BlueLine and needless to say, he will be a great addition to the shop. OUT.

BlueLine now has the full line of the new Surftech Gerry Lopez SUP boards. Board in photo is the 8'11" quad. Super fun little board. I took it out today for a surf and it was like riding a skateboard. Don't forget that we also carry Gerry Lopez short boards and long boards as well. All surfboard shapes are hand shaped by Gerry Lopez using Clark Foam blanks.
Do you recognize the dude in the photo? Thats Clay Feeters twin brother, Kurt Feeter. Clay is the owner of the Stand Up Journal. Kurt stopped by the store to say hi and grab a QB paddle on his way to Baja. Have fun Kurt!!! OUT.

So today we had our first real swell of the year and our local break Ledbetter was full of kids and adults having fun in the waves. There were short boards, long boards, paddle boards and even some big overweight sloth on one of those butt board things. The kids were having fun riding waves and cutting each other off. It's ok because they all grew up together and if they take each other out at least we know their parents wont sue because we are all friends:) Unfortunately with all the kids in the water the guys on SUP boards need to be really careful. All it's going to take is some giant KOOK to knock the daylights out of one of the kids and send them to the ER. That will be the beginning of the end for SUP at our local spot. Today I noticed this guy on a SUP board that clearly didn't know how to surf and had no business being any where near our kids in the lineup. He was flopping all over the place like a drunken sailer on his giant yellow board and was making all of us on SUP boards look bad. The final straw for me was when he took off on a wave totally out of control and cut this guy off on a long board then flung his SUP board right into the guys face. The dude grabbed the SUP board right before it was to rip his head off. Poor long board guy paddled for shore and left. I went over and cussed this SUP kook out and told him what a dumb ass he is. Please, just because you can stand on a SUP board doesn't mean you know how to surf. You are a danger to yourself and the people around you. STAY AWAY from crowded surf until you know what you are doing. It's boneheads like this guy today that are giving the sport a bad name. So far we don't have all the rules and regulations like they do down south so please, if you see any fellow SUP surfers being kooks in the line up let them know. Yell at them and tell them what dumb asses they are. OUT.

I haven't been able to update since Hood River due to our extremely remote location here on Orcas Island. Yesterday we spent the day on the Puget sound photographing Orcas on a friends boat. Allen Mozo braved the icy cold waters to do some wake surfing in the frigged waters. We have tons of killer photos that I will be posting for the next few weeks.
