TEAM RIDER PETER TROW.....GALAPAGOS ISLANDS

Peter Trow surfing the Galapagos. Peter will charge any wave so it was great to have him on the trip. He put in a good showing for the California crew and in fact he made it on the cover of the spring issue of the Stand Up Journal. Yup, our trip to the Galapagos made the cover. Allen Mozo got the shot of Peter Trow on a beautiful wave at a killer spot. I wrote the story and even though I am not a writer I think it turned out OK. Best part is the photos will do most the talking. OUT.

KEKOA UEMURA....GALAPAGOS ISLANDS

It's been many many months since we have returned from our Galapagos SUP surf trip and I am still going through the over 5000 photos that I shot. Above photos are Japanese long board champ Kekoa Uemura. Some surfers are just easy to photograph. Just point and shoot and the magic appears. Another person that I love to photograph surfing is Peter Trow. I'll dig up some unseen Galapagos photos of Peter and post them next. OUT.

HALEY FISKE GETTING AIR AT MAV'S ON HIS PADDLE SURF HAWAII 12' GUN

I was able to clean up one of my Mav's photos and Haley sent me a photo from another angle of his air drop at Maverick's on Thursday. After landing he wiped out big time and lost his paddle. I watched thru my zoom lens from the cliff and I could see Haley looking for his paddle. After awhile a jet ski found it and motored it over to him. Haley paddled back out and grabbed 3 more bombs!!! TEAM RIDER HALEY FISKE AT MAV'S TODAY

I was able to get some hazy photos of team rider Haley Fiske today charging Maverick's about an hour ago. As you can see waves are cranking. Haley was trying to talk me into paddling out with him today but all I could come up for an excuse was that I forgot my booties....it worked:) We will be up here for a few more days so I hope to get more big wave SUP shots tomorrow. Click on photos to enlarge. OUT.

SUNRISE OVER SANTA BARBARA

For the past three days I have got up in the dark and headed down to the beach with my kids to surf and watch the sun come up. It really sucks getting out of bed at 5 am but well worth it once we get to the beach and see the killer waves and bright orange sun as it pops up over the southern mountains. Couple mornings ago my good friend Jerry Shalhoob and his gal Pam were already in the water when we arrived. I was able to get these photos of them before I jumped in. We sure live in a beautiful place. OUT.

CAMPUS POINT

The Surf Happens Surf Challenge at Campus Point was a big success. Great weather and great waves. The BlueLine / Paddle Surf Hawaii tent was busy all day. Thanks to Chris Keet for inviting us to help sponsor this event and look for us at the upcoming Rincon Classic. These surf events are a great way to turn people on to SUP that might have reservations about the sport. Maybe change a couple peoples minds. OUT.

TEAM RIDER MATT BECKER

15 year old BlueLine / Paddle Surf Hawaii team rider Matt Becker showing some skills on his PSH 9'3" ripper. More and more young surfers are turning to SUP and that is exactly what this sport needs to go to the next level. Right on Matt!!! Now don't get me wrong, all you 40 something floppy hat wearing knee high booty sporting SUP guys are cool too..........kind of. OK, now that I have touched on the subject of floppy hats I was just curious about some of the stuff I see guys paddling out into the lineup wearing. I mean some of these kooks really crack me up!!! I have actually seen a guy sporting a diving knife around his waste. Dang!!! Don't piss that guy off.

THE ULTIMATE SUP VEHICLE

Every day someone walks up to my Sprinter van and asks me about it and wants to know what the inside looks like. So here ya go. Lots of boards including my quiver of Paddle Surf Hawaii SUP boards, CI and Lopez short boards and even a Carve board. So much more crap in the corners including camera equipment, extra fins, wetsuits, stickers, wax, band aids, duct tape, zip ties and much more. I have found that as long as you carry duct tape and zip ties you can fix anything. OUT.
