THE KOOKS ARE BACK!!

So today we had our first real swell of the year and our local break Ledbetter was full of kids and adults having fun in the waves. There were short boards, long boards, paddle boards and even some big overweight sloth on one of those butt board things. The kids were having fun riding waves and cutting each other off. It's ok because they all grew up together and if they take each other out at least we know their parents wont sue because we are all friends:) Unfortunately with all the kids in the water the guys on SUP boards need to be really careful. All it's going to take is some giant KOOK to knock the daylights out of one of the kids and send them to the ER. That will be the beginning of the end for SUP at our local spot. Today I noticed this guy on a SUP board that clearly didn't know how to surf and had no business being any where near our kids in the lineup. He was flopping all over the place like a drunken sailer on his giant yellow board and was making all of us on SUP boards look bad. The final straw for me was when he took off on a wave totally out of control and cut this guy off on a long board then flung his SUP board right into the guys face. The dude grabbed the SUP board right before it was to rip his head off. Poor long board guy paddled for shore and left. I went over and cussed this SUP kook out and told him what a dumb ass he is. Please, just because you can stand on a SUP board doesn't mean you know how to surf. You are a danger to yourself and the people around you. STAY AWAY from crowded surf until you know what you are doing. It's boneheads like this guy today that are giving the sport a bad name. So far we don't have all the rules and regulations like they do down south so please, if you see any fellow SUP surfers being kooks in the line up let them know. Yell at them and tell them what dumb asses they are. OUT.
