GALAPAGOS.....IN THE BAG
It's done! We all survived the SUP surf trip of a lifetime. All 7 of us agreed that this trip was the most physically demanding surf trip we have ever done.....for sure. I got hurt the second day of the trip after trying to go right on a left hand outer reef break. I landed on my rail and cracked a rib then hit the lava rock and got a nice bloody wound to hang with me the rest of the trip. Little did I know that this was just a sign of things to come. Later that day Peter Trow and I got some of the best left hand point break waves we ever surfed. I was so stoked because I never surf left and now I LOVE to go left. Bad news is I woke up the next day and could barley get out of bed due to the cracked rib. No problem because I busted out my camera and shot the rest of the trip. I did get back in the water to surf but only in little spurts.I couldn't find pain killers on those little islands damn it!! So much happened on this trip and I will write the whole story for the Stand Up Journal. Lots of killer photos from Allen Mozo and myself will be of course added.
We experienced it all. Big waves, killer whales(Orca), penguins, giant Galapagos tortoises, blue footed boobies, marine Iguanas, flamingos and so much more. We had a near death boat accident when we got caught inside by a clean out set. We even had three of our group get kidnapped at gun point in a taxi in Ecuador the last night before flying back to the USA. Crazy fun beautiful trip. A friend told me a long time ago that punk rock is beautiful music if you really listen to the words and feel the sound. I guess our trip was that kind of beautiful. Punk rock beautiful. OUT.

OK, I am heading to the Galapagos 12 - 20 July with my ULI, which I bought just for the trip. I'm very excited to read of your trip, though you guys are way out of my league, chest is plenty high enough for me. My big question is how to avoid the kidnapping. Did it happen in Quito?
Martin-The kidnapping happened in Guayaquil. As for the waves it gets big there so be ready. If you only have the ULI bring a big patch kit because it's all sharp lava rock. Have a fun safe trip.
