WAYNE RICH SUP......COMING SOON
A sneak peek at the new Wayne Rich 10'6" SUP board. I should have an advanced model from over seas by the end of next week. I'll surf the hell out of it and give a full report. These boards will be on the racks in our Santa Barbara store in the next couple of months. Wayne is very excited about these SUP boards and after seeing the pics I can see why. OUT.

WAYNE RICH IN THE HOUSE
We at BlueLine are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new Wayne Rich 10'6" Sup board. Wayne is an amazing shaper and all his boards are magic and full of soul. Just ask all the Santa Barbara locals that surf his boards every day. We are proud to be now carrying his full line of high performance long boards at BlueLine. Yes, we are a SUP store but in Wayne's case we are making an exception. Come by and check out his beautiful high performance boards.
Also, I want to thank Jimmy Terrell from Quick Blade paddles for the bad ass QB paddle stands and board stand. I will be at the Battle of the Paddle OCT 11th hanging with Jimmy Terrell and Jimmy Lewis. We will join tents and will have SUP boards and paddles for all to check out. Jimmy Lewis will have about 6 or 7 SUP boards including a few 12'6" race boards. Should be a good time. OUT.

LITTLE HELPERS

FAT ELVIS DIET and the SWIM-A-THON
My son Ben and others completed the Santa Barbara Swim Club "Swim-a-Thon" today. Ben swam 200 laps non stop to help raise money for the club. Why am I bragging about my son and his friends on a SUP blog ? Because I can. If you want to brag about your kids, start your own blog :) It's very simple. Anyhow, it was a fun event and BlueLine Paddlesurf donated the grand prize: an 11' Oxbow SUP board, QB deck pad and a Jimmy Lewis wood paddle. Now that I have a busy job down at the SUP store and can't get out on the water as much as I used, to my beer belly is growing (Fat Elvis Diet) but my kids are taking over and grabbing the torch in the hard core dept. Gotta love the kids. Me and my partners all have young kids and they love hanging out at the new SUP store. We had them all down working at the shop today so tomorrow I will post pics of them hard at work. They all look at the blog and want to be in a post pic. For some real SUP surf pics and some real SUP product go to www.bluelinepaddlesurf.com. OUT.

QUICKBLADE...BEST DAMN SUP PADDLE ON EARTH
I made my every other week run down to see Jimmy Terrell, owner of Quickblade paddles. Quickblade SUP paddles are hands down the best SUP paddles on earth. It's the only paddle I have ever used. Jimmy is a super good guy and great to work with. If you haven't tried a Quickblade your off the back. OUT.

2008 FRIENDSHIP PADDLE
Another successful Friendship paddle. This year we took off from the west end of Santa Cruz Island on Saturday morning and paddled across the Santa Barbara Channel to Carp State Beach just south of Santa Barbara. After getting some great waves the day before on a nearby island we took off about 7am Saturday and never looked back. Along the way we tangled with sharks coming by for a look and giant cargo ships buzzing by us. Yup, sharks and ships. Not sure which one was worse. I think I set the word record for falling off a SUP board and getting back on. After watching the first shark buzz my board I fell in trying to see where it went. You have never seen someone jump back on a board so fast. I must have been in the water for about 3 seconds. What a great event and for a great cause. Thanks to Stace Chevarez and his legendary urchin boat, the Florentina Maria for being our support again this year. I couldn't think of a better boat to be on with a better guy. If you have read the book Bluewater Goldrush you know the boat I'm talking about. Last year we paddled from Point Conception to Santa Barbara and I have to admit that this years paddle kicked my ass more than last year. Can't wait till next years paddle. OUT.
