NOR CAL SUP

I did my first SUP bombing run on Nor Cal. This was just a trip to soften up the targets for the next raid. There was a lot of interest in my boards and I got out and surfed some really fun overhead beach break. Yes, I got my ass handed to me on some inside shore pound and a local asked me if I had a barn to store my board in!! Over all it was a fun trip an I hope to be back up in a couple of weeks. OUT.

GONE SUP FISHIN

Home boy Wayne sporting his new home made SUP fishing rig at Ledbetter beach. He made me promise that I wouldn't make fun of him when posting this pic. No way dude! That rig is cool. You can catch a wave while trolling for halibut and then kick back and grab a beer out of the ice chest while carving a bottom turn! I want one damn it! OUT.

SO CAL BANDWAGON

Everyone's an SUP expert all of a sudden in So Cal. Funny how that works. I'd just like to give a shout out to all the original Santa Barbara SUP crew. That would be guys like Jerry "T-Bone" Shalhoob, Steve "Stylemaster' Marsh, Warren "Wardog" Thomas and Mark Ingalls. Oh I'm sure I left out a few but you know who you are. Just remember that it's all about having fun and there are a boat load of boards to choose from now. Pick the board that works for you and go have a good time. Some of us might capitalize on the sport and make a few bucks and that's cool too. Pop out boards, hand laid glass boards. Decisions decisions. Whatever works just go surf it and have fun. OUT.

Lopez 9'6"......it's a floater !!!

My buddy Earl took my Gerry Lopez 9'6"+27 1/2" demo board out today for a spin around Ledbetter. He came back an hour later and plunked down the cash and bought one for himself. What's so unusual about this? Well, Earl weighs in at a healthy 205 pounds. 205 POUNDS on a 9'6" by 27 and a half inch wide SUP board! On the flip side a light weight chick the other day that has never been on a SUP board bought the Lopez 9'6" and had no problem on it. No excuses to not go small now. Big Earl (solid muscle mind you) and small light rookie chick can hang with the small board. OUT.

FYI...keep your eyes peeled when cruising the 101 between Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara for the above Lopez SUP board. I let my neighbor take it to Santa Cruz on Sunday and somewhere on the way home Sunday night it blew off of his freaking truck. No I'm not joking and he feels like a giant ass! He paid up and I now have a new one but it would be cool to find out where it ended up.

ODELAY! VIVA LA FIESTA

SUP demo Saturday May 17th at Ledbetter Beach. Come see and ride Ron House and Gerry Lopez SUP boards. Jim Terrell from Quickblade paddles will be there to show off his top of the line SUP paddles as well. We will also be teaming up with Kona bikes so you can check out and test ride some bad ass mountain bikes. Yup, that's right. This will be a SUP and mountain bike demo on the beach. Buckle up your chin straps, grab your paddle and head down to the beach Saturday May 17th. OUT.

DEMO/PARTY

Ron House, Jerry Lopez and Quickblade paddle demo on Saturday May 17th at Ledbetter beach Santa Barbara. Demo from 9:00am till dusk. Party at Shoreline Beach Cafe at 5:00pm. If your not familiar with the area just look for the Shoreline Cafe at the beach. Test boards and ask questions. I am working on having Kona bikes there as well so you can try out a trick Kona mountain bike after your paddle. Sounds like a damn good time to me!! See ya there. OUT.
