CENTRAL COAST......AGAIN!
I jumped in the team van yesterday to run up the coast and do a little business. Of course we always mix business with pleasure so I brought team rider Chris Gutzeit and my camera along for the ride. We hooked up with Central Coast waterman and team member Peter Trow for another great surf session. I love taking pics of these guys and I think I found another hobby!! OUT.

WEST SIDE SANTA CRUZ CREW
I found myself back up north yesterday. This time it was back to Santa Cruz. I meet up with my friend Brenda Scott Rogers, owner of HotLine wetsuits. We then hooked up with Santa Cruz big wave surf legends Darrel "Flea" Virostko and Shawn "Barney" Barron for a SUP session at the Lane. I got the boys out on the Paddle Surf Hawaii 10'6" AA and Brenda surfed the PSH 9'2". Super fun time. Flea was a natural and we might just see him charging giant waves on one of our SUP boards one day.....just maybe. Ill be back up north today and hope to have some more killer surf pics. OUT.

JOHN TAYLOR....WWW.PROJECTSURFCAMP.COM
John Taylor (JT) was born with one healthy leg, and one leg had a growth problem with his femur bone. He learned to swim before he could actually walk, he had corrective surgery to his leg to allow a prosthetic leg at age 16 months. He has always enjoyed his time in the water.
JT competed at the college level in swimming, and found this to be his equalizer when competing against others in sports. He currently teaches middle school Science, PE, and special Education for the Paso Robles School District, and has started his own organization called: Project Surf Camp which is a nonprofit organization designed to educate individuals with special needs. "Our mission is to build self confidence, self-esteem, and self-efficacy. We further provide opportunities to build social skills, improve physical fitness, develop healthy outlets for stress reduction, and faster independence".
JT has personally been surfing for 10 years, and has been experimenting with different styles of prosthetic legs during this time. With the introduction of SUPS just two weeks ago at the Morro Bay Paddle Surf Hawaii SUP demo he is truly hooked, and now wants to keep improving his skills enough so that he can start the transition to surfing waves as well. Clayton Wright from Paddle Surf Hawaii will be donating a 10'6" PSH to JT's program, and will size him up with a Quick Blade paddle as well, donated by PSH/OnBoard Watersports. Good luck John and we can't wait to see you ripping on the SUP board!! OUT.
